It’s a Great Day in the South Bay … when you see snow on the shore

You’d think with the beautiful weather we have all year around things would get pretty boring. But when you go to the beach every day you start to tune in to the subtle changes.

Like when the tide is so high after a full harvest moon that the waves spill up over the sand ridge.

And the birds. Seagulls are a given. And i thought sandpipers were too. Until the day we had a shoot and needed a beauty shot of those little legged runners on the beach. And they were nowhere to be found! (THey’re back now but the way).

Today we were delighted to run into 10 or so snowy egrets hanging out on the shore. They’re elegant and shy but their presence made the waves sparkle just a little more.

Wonder what the ocean will reward us with tomorrow.
