Talk about being ahead of the curve! The Los Angeles Maritime Museum has a long tradition of giving local San Pedro residents a firsthand look at the maritime history that is so deeply woven into the fabric of the community.

The museum will be closed for nearly two years – and not because of the virus! The Port of Los Angeles (the Museum’s landlord) is currently renovating the waterfront. Thinking ahead, the museum created a 3D virtual walkthough to make the exhibits available to everyone during the interim. Enjoy this 3-D look at this incredible museum – and as it turns out, the timing could not be better since so many are now limited to their homes.

Several other things are planned to keep the experience fresh while the museum is closed including refreshing exhibitions and a video tour. In addition, the Port will be starting some long-awaited infrastructure improvements to the 78-year old building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
