In this time of social distancing, we need to do all we can to support local businesses while staying healthy and preventing the spread to our neighbors. Buying gift certificates to use later is a great start!

Here are some local businesses who deliver, do curbside, or offer remote services.

If you are a local South Bay Business offering creative solutions to the current situation, please let us know so we can add you to the list! Email editor@selectsouthbay.

Please note we are posting information as it comes in from various sources. Double check with the businesses before going since our world is rapidly changing these days!

The Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Beach Cities Health District have compiled a list of restaurants who are offering curbside pick-up, to-go orders or delivery services.

Lomita Sherif – We’re all in this together. We said that earlier, and we meant it. If you have an elderly loved one or someone in need that lives in the Lomita station jurisdiction (Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates or unincorporated Palos Verdes Peninsula and San Pedro) and you are unable to check on them, give us a call at (310) 539-1661 and ask for a welfare check! Duties permitting, deputies will go by your loved one’s home to check on them and make sure they are okay! Just because they’re stuck inside during this unusual moment in our history doesn’t mean they are forgotten!

“HEALTH AT HOME”
A Message from Steve MacAller, Executive Director, Torrance – South Bay YMCA
“With schools across the country closing due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), it’s important to keep kids engaged, healthy, and active at home. Access is quick-and-easy via Google Classroom. Full details and instructions are available at catch.org/pages/health-at-home.

This Saturday, the Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market will be open, but it will be different than usual.

They announced that they are keeping a close eye on the news and decided for now to have the market open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday but only for farmers and ranchers. They will have one entrance and will allow 50 people at once to enter. Officials say they also plan to hire staff for the weekend to assist with the operations.

South Bay Childrens’ Health Center

Following the recommendation of the California Dental Association, our dental clinic is closed to the public for a minimum of two weeks, although we are seeing patients with dental emergencies.   While all of our local schools are closed, the need for kids to have a caring, professional therapist to talk to has grown exponentially.  Our Child Guidance Clinic is seeing clients through telehealth with the full support of the Department of Mental Health.  The school districts we work with have asked us to continue offering counseling services also via telehealth, knowing that anxiety is running rampant in addition to what the students were going through before this crisis began.

Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach’s restaurant zinc@shade remains open for safe To-Go, and curbside pick-up via the hotel valet from 8AM-7PM daily. Please note that the hotel is also open and available for room reservations!

They are taking extremely strong measures to keep employees, customers, and food safe!

Simply call 310.546.4995 to place your order and they will have it ready for you at our valet! Gift cards are available as well.

Please also consider purchasing a Gift Card for future use at the hotel or restaurant!
