On our morning walk each day, we inevitably meet someone who exclaims “Isn’t it a lovely morning?” I agree, of course. After all, I’ve only been here a little over a year, but what amazes me is that no one we meet becomes immune to the beauty of a lovely morning, no matter how long they live here.
Many of the people we meet in Palos Verdes are “lifers” — they’ve grown up here or raised their children here —yet they never cease to appreciate the beauty of their surroundings, the happiness they feel upon stepping outside into the sunlight, and the warm greetings they exchange with neighbors and visitors who share an appreciation for a beautiful morning, even if it does happen every day.
